Andreas Kremling - From systems biology to systems biotechnology

Invited researcher seminar, Thursday, October 24, 2013, 11 AM, Salle F107, INRIA Grenoble - Rhône-Alpes, Montbonnot

While systems biology looks for a better understanding of cellular systems and tries to elucidate the structural and functional properties of cellular networks by a combination of theoretical and experimental approaches, systems biotechnology is an important application and seeks to improve relevant production processes. In the talk basic research projects of the division systems biotechnology at TU Munich are presented and it is shown how processes on the metabolic, the genetic and the signalling level interact and how they can be described by means of mathematical models. Furthermore, current projects with a focus on biotechnology are discussed.
