The background definition window helps you defining which wells can be used to correct for background levels in absorbance, luminescence, and fluorescence data in other wells.
The window shows:
To assign a status to a well or a group of wells, you simply have to click on it or draw a rectangle with the mouse. When the button is released, a context menu shows up that allows you to assign to these wells a background well, define the well as a background well, etc. There can be no ambiguity on the status: if for example some wells are defined to be corrected by means of background well C3, the latter well is automatically defined as a background.
On the bottom side, a small legend explains the meaning of the colors:
On the lower left side, a preview of the data allows you to check the contents of a well.
when you change the definition of background wells, the measurements depending on this background are automatically corrected with the new background.
Note: Redefining backgrounds currently sets the associated parameters (e.g., the fit parameter) to their default values.
