WellReader's development tree
The development tree follows the usual rules:
- The source:trunk branch is the latest development branch. It has the most recent updates, but may have some experimental or unstable features. This is usually used by programmers.
- The source:tags branch lists tagged releases, i.e. snapshots of the trunk considered consistent. Such releases are functional and should ensure the user a correct use of the software.
- The source:branches branch is not used a lot, as its main purpose would be to maintain older releases for bugfixes. In WellReader, we incorporate such fixes in newer releases, along with other improvements.
- The source:sandbox branch is here for functionalities experimentations. If successful, those are often backported to the source:trunk.
Note: WellReader is a small project, and thus does not follows the usual numbering rules. A release with a higher number may have both more features and bugfixes. Thus, it is a good choice to always use the latest tagged release. Anyway, release 3.0 was the first feature-complete tag, and later versions include both minor improvements and bugfixes. Always use the latest version from 3.x branch.
